FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY AT SOMMET CENTER

The Sommet Center is looking for individuals to work concessions at their games and performances.  Anyone 18 or older is allowed to volunteer and money is earned and credited toward your daughter's volleyball fees.    Please contact Ron Schmittou at Ron.Schmittou@craneamerica.com or
371-9937 or 479-7196 for more details.  Several of our parents participated in this program last year and were able to substantially lower their fees.

Kroger Cares

General Information

Cards with a $5 minimum amount are issued to each person who would like to participate.  When you purchase your card for $5,  you will receive a copy of the directions on how to activate and use the card.  Basically, you "recharge" your card at the checkout register BEFORE they scan your groceries, then use the card to pay for your groceries.

Example:  Before I checkout, I ask the clerk to put $200 on my card.  I pay for this transaction, then they checkout my groceries.  My total was $160.  I swipe the Kroger card and that amount is deducted.  I have a $40 balance on my card.  The Kroger card is simply a gift card; you can have a balance remaining on the card and use it the next time you shop.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that when the card is issued, the person's name and account are recorded.  This is the only way we can keep track, by person, who receives the benefits from participating.

Benefits

Here's the payback:  for every $5,000 spent, we receive 4% back ($200).  Every 4 weeks, Jaye will receive a statement of our account.  It tells which cards have been reloaded and the balance.  She will keep up with each person's account earnings.  Next season, your balance can be used to pay your daughter's Select Volleyball fees.

Other Details

Always keep at least a dollar on your card.  A card with a zero balance for a period of 90 days will be taken out of the system.  A new card will have to be purchased from Select VBC.

If a card cannot be recharged, a new card has to be purchased from the organization (Select VBC).  Occasionally, a card in demagnetized and cannot be recharged.  This is rare but it does happen if a card has been used a lot.  Have the cashier manually enter the card number and get it to a zero balance.  Throw that card away and get a new card from Select VBC.  A CARD PURCHASED IN A STORE CANNOT BE LINKED TO YOUR ORGANIZATION!!  If you have problems using the card, contact Jaye Briggs at 221-8202.

**Jaye Briggs has graciously volunteered to administrate this program.  For questions regarding this program, or to purchase a card, email her at briggsfamilyTN@comcast.net or call 221-8202.

**Select VBC is pleased to offer the Kroger Cares program to help pay your daughter's volleyball fees!
